If there is any state that can be summed up as the Kaleidoscope of true Indian culture, then it has to be Uttar Pradesh. This state is the mirror for what the real India stands for. Right from it pastoral villages to high class metropolitan suburbs- every place has typical Indian feel of warmth, compassion and rusticity as well.Uttar Pradesh is situated in the Northern Part of India. It surrounded with Tibet & Nepal in the North, Madhya Pradesh in the South, Haryana, Delhi & Rajasthan in the West and Bihar in the East. The state is often referred as Hindi Belt as Hindi being the main language of the region. Uttar Pradesh has dominated Indian Politics since country̢۪s independence. It is accredited to have produced the largest number of Indian Prime Ministers. The Ganges River is the back bone of the state making it one of the most fertile belts of the country. The cities situated at the bank of this river are also traditionally treated to be sacred.
The state has very developed tourism industry working for attracting tourist from almost all over the world. It has many religious centers devoted to every religion. Moreover, Uttar Pradesh is the land of world̢۪s most famed and one of the seven wonders of the modern times.
How to get there?
Uttar Pradesh is accessible by all modes of transportations. Agra, Lucknow and Kanpur can be reached by air. Almost all the centers of UP can be reached by Roadways as well as railways quite easily from New Delhi.
Major Cities
Agra : The world famous Taj Mahal is undoubtedly the place one should not miss. Apart from that Itmad-Ud-Daulah's Tomb, Agra Fort, Rambagh, Jahangir Fort etc. are worth seeing.
Allahabad : One of the most visited pilgrimage centers of India. Sangam, Anand Bhavan, Allahabad Museum, Fort etc. are the famous attractions of the city.
Ayodhya : It is considered to be the birth place of Lord Rama and thus it is one of the popular destinations in the state. The Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan, Ramkot etc. are some of the places that attract huge number of tourists.
Chitrakoot : It is situated on the bank of river Mandakani is one of the sacred places for Hindus. Ramghat, Kamadgiri, Janki kund are some of the places here worth visiting.
Jhansi : It is the gate way to Bundelkand. Jhansi Fort, Rani Mahal, Government Museum are the famous places to visit.
Kanpur : This is one of the most industrialized towns in UP. Valmiki Ashram, Brahmavat Ghat, Dhruv Teela etc. are the sightseeing attraction of the city.
Lucknow : Referred as the city of Nawabs, Lucknow is the capital of UP. Bara Imambara, Hussainnabad Imambara, Laxman Tila, Rumi Darwaza are some of the famous tourist attraction of Lucknow.
Varanasi : This is one of the oldest living cities of the world. It is the most prestigious religious centers of Hindus. Vishwanath Temple, Benaras Hindu University, Tulsi Manas Temple, Durga Temple are worth seeing at this place.
